The new Caterpillar D7 crawler tractor is now available. Among the features of the new equipment, which has a power of 197 kW (265 hp) and an operating weight of 29,776 kg, is its fully automatic 4-speed transmission, which offers optimal fuel and rolling efficiency and ease of operation.
According to the company, thanks to the new transmission operators do not need to change gears, simply choose the desired forward speed and the transmission is continuously adjusted for maximum efficiency and shifting power without additional operator intervention. Optimized blade capacity and a dedicated steering pump provide more continuous thrust during a turn under load for a higher level of productivity.
The integrated integrated rollover protection structure (ROPS) provides more visibility to the sides of the crawler tractor.
Also, the cabin was remodeled, providing greater comfort. Operators will have more space, an air suspension seat with multiple settings, and a 203mm gauge panel operator interface with a clear view of machine/service functions and configurations. An optional Premium cab offers fully adjustable armrests, plus an easy-to-use 254mm touchscreen operator interface with a high-definition rear camera. Four LED lights are standard, with options for packs of 6 or 12 lights.
A sturdy chassis, D8-size frames and a new chain roller chassis with larger roller shafts improve durability. Long-lasting reinforced undercarriage - HDLX with DuraLink - provides up to 20% longer seal life in high impact conditions. A revamped fuel system provides more reliability and a more accurate fuel supply.
A ground-level service center provides easy access to the disconnect switch and can be equipped with an optional hour counter and an access/output light switch. There is a rail, with an integrated shovel stand, available to help facilitate refueling.
