LafargeHolcim vende su negocio en Chile

10 October 2016

The world cement giant LafargeHolcim decided to sell its 54.3% stake in Cemento Polpaico, the main supplier of the material in Chile.

With the agreement, the world's largest producer of construction supplies will stop participating in the Chilean market.

After a public offering in Chile, the investment firm Caburga Limitada accepted the terms of purchase of the shares in Cemento Polpaico, for US $ 225 million.

The sale is a continuation of LafargeHolcim's international divestment program, which anticipates an asset sale of approximately $ 5.1 billion through the end of 2017.

Cemento Polpaico operates an integrated plant and two mills, with an annual capacity of 2.3 million tons. The company also produces ready mix concrete and has 25 units.
